Species Ability/Perk
As a young child, Takeo was infected with a rare strain of virus that mutated his genes into that of a human-lion hybrid. This changed his hair color from black to reddish-orange and his eyes from blue to piercing green. When he is angered, his eyes will flash briefly yellow-gold.- Transformation: At will Takeo can use his virus-altered genes to become a full lion. Takeo can remain in this form as long as he wants, but he can only transform once per post. In addition, he is weak to gold weapons in any form. If he gets gold in his system, he takes up to 10% of his health in damage, he is forcibly transformed back to human and he loses the ability to transform for a five posts. Takeo cannot use his magic in this form, but he does gain the natural weapons (Claws and teeth) of a lion. When he transforms, his clothes disappear, but he mysteriously gains a red cloak draped on his back. In addition, part of his mane on the right side is braided and is held with a leather thong. The end of this braid is dyed blue, for some reason. His fur is the color of his hair and his eyes change to a piercing yellow-green. He retains his human consciousness and intelligence in this form. In addition, he retains his ability to communicate in English.
- Enhanced speed and strength: In his lion form, Takeo gains the muscle strength of a lion, meaning that he is stronger and faster than a human. At D-rank, he can only increase his speed by one stat tier for two posts. The rest of his boosts follow this table:

Personality: - Spoiler:
- Takeo Kyoju isn’t very personable. In fact, he much prefers the company of animals and books over that of other people. Perhaps this is because his mutation - the one that turned him into a were-lion - has made him feel isolated from humans. Perhaps he feels that he will be discriminated against when he is in public. He tends to stay away from other people, especially younger ones. This is because the energy and loudness of children tends to annoy him. However, their unquestioning acceptance of anyone different can touch him and cause him to interact with kids more often. A refined individual, he can usually be found with a glass of wine in his hand. He likes other forms of alcohol, but he prefers the sweet bitterness of wine. In fact, he considers himself to be a wine connoisseur, and indeed, he knows a lot about the beverage and is able to distinguish wines from each other based only on tiny hints of varying flavors. In some cases, he can even determine the year the wine was fermented based on these variables. If approached directly, he will respond politely but succinctly. He tends to speak in an old-fashioned dialect, even in light, funny situations or tense battle situations. This is mostly due to the fact that he reads almost nothing but books in a long-dead language all day. When he is bored and tired of studying, Takeo will sometimes go out into a nearby town and amaze the people there by performing incredible feats of magic, athleticism and acrobatics. He never swears or smokes, and is heavily disdainful to those who do. He is known to sever cigarettes with blades of wind, whether or not they are in someone's mouth, and saying very quietly, "Smoking is bad for you. If those things don't damage your health, I might." Despite his closed-off personality, he cherishes friends and is always looking to make more. One thing he is desperately looking for is love. He is very lonely, which is probably the cause of his standoffishness. Takeo can be romantic, even though he is extremely jealous and overprotective. This makes it rather difficult for him to find romance. He also hopes that his special someone is a mage, so they can go on grand adventures together and discuss what he has discovered in his books.
In battle, Takeo is as quiet and calm as ever. In fact, he becomes even more serious and intense. There is nothing that could come between him and his objective. That is, nothing except an animal of any sort, as long as it was mildly cute. Despite his tough, often unfriendly exterior, Takeo is a sucker for animals, especially cats. Inside of battle, he shows no emotions, not even fear or joy. He will always attempt to win the battle in utter silence. He will do his best to defeat his opponent, even when it is clear that they have the upper hand. When with a team or a partner, he will encourage, rebuke or give them orders as quietly and succinctly as possible. He tends to avoid positions of leadership, as he does not like being in the spotlight. However, when he is forced into one, he resigns himself and really lets himself shine. He never gets angry, even when a team member makes a potentially dangerous or deadly decision. Even if he is hurt, no matter how badly, if he can stand and hold his weapons, he will fight. To make him stop fighting when he is dangerously wounded, it is often necessary to knock him out and drag him away from the battle. If any of his friends or teammates are wounded or hurt, he will instantly fly into a rage and begin attacking the enemy ferociously without any regards to his own safety. He will not rest until the enemy is dead or he is physically dragged away by his other teammates. He will also ignore any attempt to surrender from the enemy in his battle rage. He will only calm down when he is forced away from combat or shown that his injured teammate is alright. Some dark guilds call him a demon for his strange, powerful magic and his seamless transformation into a fearsome lion.
Likes: (3 minimum)
- Animals, especially cats. Ever since he gained the ability to turn into a lion, he has gained a new empathy, respect and love for animals, cats in particular.
- Wine. The refined, bittersweet flavor appeals to him.
- Books. He was raised around books, and their abilities to inform, immerse and captivate readers has always fascinated him.
Dislikes: (3 minimum)
- Animal abusers. Abusing an animal, especially a cat, is the worst sin in his eyes. If he witnesses an animal being abused he will drop everything to rescue the poor creature and make sure that the abuser can never commit such a sin again.
- Beer. The bitter, foamy beverage has never agreed with his taste buds.
- Modern technology. Despite being born into the modern age, his affinity for all things ancient has given him an aversion to all things 'newfangled.'
Fears: (3 minimum)
- Losing the one he loves. He has already lost so many things in his life, and he does not want to lose the most precious thing to him.
- Water. As he is, indeed, part cat, and the fact that water irreversibly destroys books, he has a major fear of large bodies of water.
- Failure. The fear of failure might be the most common in the world, but as person who has never become accustomed to the taste of defeat, he does not ever want to lose.
Motivations/Goals: (3 minimum)
- Becoming fluent in the 'Ancient Language.' This goal is one of his biggest, as complete mastery of the long-lost language will allow him to use his magic to its full potential
- Reading every book in the Library. This goal has no real purpose, it is just driven by his intense curiosity. He wants to learn everything he can about the Ancients and their magic.
- To find his soul mate, settle down and raise a family. An intense sense of longing and heartache drives him to actively seek out the one who might be destined to be with him forever.
