    Diwali “Yasha“ Amaratavi
    Yasha
    28
    Oct. 30th
    Human/Deva
    D Rank
    Light Bringer
    Male

    Species Ability/Perk

On a superficial level a deva no different from all other living beings, because one is not born a deva, but much rather becomes such through devotion towards the deva religion. After arduous procedures and many years of training, the deva obtain something similar to a seventh sense that grant them abilitiies otherwise not present in non-deva's. While physically, a deva is still whatever species they were born as, they see themselves and describe themselves as different from other living creatures.
However, because becoming a deva requires such a strict devotion to a religion, there are only few that are scattered all across the world. Teachings are passed on from individual to individual, rather than in large groups or schools.

Weightlessness: A deva can become “weightless” by ridding themselves of all connections to the physical world. While on the one hand they quite literally weigh nothing upon achieving this state, it also enables them to freely float by pushing themselves of various surfaces, almost moving like in zero gravity. The highest/furthest he can jump in this state is dependent on the height limit chart. A deva can tap in and out of this state, returning their physical weight at will.

Longevity: Because devas are abstinent, fasting for long periods of time and pursue an excessively healthy body, they often live up to twice as long as the regular life span would allow. Some even longer. They can also do without sleep, food or water for weeks on end. Because they live they practice heavy physical discipline their bodies are very enduring in general, and many of them lose their sense of pain after becoming devas. Even if they receive physical damage, it fails to influence their person.

    Special Unique Characteristics

Yasha has unusually long earlobes that reach all the way down to his sternum. It would seem like this had something to do with his religion, but it is simply a fashion choice. Yasha is interested in body modding.

    Character Depth

Yasha is a proud and passionate,.extremely religious individual. His convictions and beliefs are not just a life-style he walked down because it suited him. He genuinely believes in the devas teachings and values. He trusts that the truth of the world and the secrets of the universe can be found in the way of the deva. But while this is all fair and good, Yasha can get quite arrogant and intolerant when his views are challenged. Whilst he is a calm and peaceful individual, he has absolutely no mind for those who believe in violence. He abhors those that do wrong, believing repenance and pursuit of peace is the only true way to improve as a thinking creature.

On the flip-side of his philosophical beliefs, he has no interest in politics, social issues and absolutely no sense for delicacy. He is upfront and insensitive in all diplomatic discourse. In this authoritarian mindset, he does try to subvert those around him, be they in the guild or otherwise, to join him in meditative sessions or other religious practices. Naturally, he does not get angry if anyone should turn him down, but dissapointment that more people don't try to walk the path of purity and peace does emerge from time to time. However, because of his constant attempts to get people entangled in a conversation, he is gregarious and homely, and a pleasure to be around most of the time.

Being a good listener is just one of the attributes he has gained over the years. By relentlessly investing into the thoughts and problems of others, he developed an unparalleled sense for agitation in others out of the „seventh sense“. Yasha is also not shy of giving solid advice and physically helping out those around him to face their fears and insecurities and to jump over any obstacles standing in their way. This might seem off-putting to a many people, as the therapeutic quality of his religion is questionable at best. When it gets down to the meat of an issue, Yasha is unafraid to push people further than they may want to go at first.

Furthermore, while Yasha is a calm and gentle man who abhors violence, he is not innocent of attempting to entrap people. Although this is a facet of his personality he simply fails to control, it has had consequences that he tried long and hard to pay repentance for. Because of the deva's „seventh sense“, the ability to read intention and desire in people, it is easy for Yasha to figure out what buttons to push. And much to his dismay, getting a rise out of people is not something he does out of pure hearted altruism. Although devas do see it as their task to show people the demons inside of them, Yasha also simply finds it fun.

However, he is not someone who attempts to be mysterious or closed himself. Although he is quite observant and does see to laying out a person's facets in front of themselves, Yasha has never once failed to be honest about his own distress and worry. In that sense, he finds that banter is a substantial part of life, and is quite important to maintain healthy relationships. Yasha is for all intents and purposes, the least edgy person you will ever meet. He knows of his own weakness and is aware of who he is and how others see him, and is not afraid to read those that question his person.

His in some ways contradicting behavior of striving for peace and freedom, but being a bundle of mischief and a loudmouth while at it, make for an off-putting personality in fights. The deva never fight to kill, or even for fun. Although their magical abilities may have destructive qualities, the person that wields the powers is almost always on the defensive waiting for an opening to take out the opponent swiftly and without much stress. But Yasha is a bit different. He likes to dance around his opponents, tip-toeing around their psyche while simply blocking or diverting any attempt of assault. He finds it fun to get a rise out of violent people just for them to realize that catching and then harming a deva is an arduous task for even the most skilled mages out there.

All in all, Yasha can be describes as a passionate, mischievous but well-meaning individual. He is kind but determined to those around him, humorous and outgoing with most people, critical and provocative if need be and at heart a free spirit and an open mind.

    Likes:
    - Body modding & Fashion: As two pieces of a puzzle, Yasha is always on the lookout for all that is aesthetic. He has molded himself after his personal religious design and is interested in finding people who have done something similar.
    - Meals & Beverages: As an ascetic who fasts nearly permanently, Yasha makes the rare occasions where he allows himself to eat and drink special.
    - Falling & Weightlessness: After his meditative sessions, it is not rarely that you will find Yasha throwing himself off of cliffs to experience the feeling of weightlessness.

    Dislikes:
    - Violence & aggression: A core part of the deva path, violence and aggression are at the top of the list of things to discard.
    - Diplomacy: He sees no point in euphemisms and being willfully less honest about issues that require an open heart and genuine words to be understood in the first place.
    - Tradition & Conservatism: While this is quite the contradictory dislike, Yasha dislikes mental boundaries. And while being a deva has its fair share of rules for the sake of maintenance, his life-style encourages philosophical discourse as a top pejorative.

    Fears:
The teachings of the deva conclude that fear, like all emotions is merely an illusion. To “ascend” to deva-status, all those that follow the path need to rid themselves of all fears. But although this is the case, they still understood that they are mortal beings, incapable of a divine attribute such as fearlessness.
    - Claustrophobia: Yasha is clinically claustrophobic and can not handle very tight spaces very well. They do need to be very very tight and circumstantial however. Apart from that he has no irrational fears, and has conquered all his rational ones.
    - Elevators: They're a tight space, and stairs exist. What's the point.
    - Two large overgrown hands cupping him in between their palms, restricting and suffocating him until he passes out: It's very real.

    Motivations:
Similar to fears, the path of the deva teaches that all desires are illusory and only serve the purpose to deter a deva from divinity. But as with fears, they understand themselves as living, breathing creatures and not as divine. In the same sense, devas rarely truly desire things.
    - Religion: A self-explanatory aspect of him.
    - Virtues: His religion communicates virtues. They are inherently motivational.
    - "The One True Magic": Apart from his religion obviously being his main drive and moral compass, Yasha desires to find out the secret and the truth of magic. In a sense, he is on his own personal quest for “The One Magic”.

    Appearance
    Hair: Light Blonde
    Eyes: Blue
    Skin Tone: Light Caucasian
    Height: 2.30m / 7'6''
    Weight: 197kg / 434lbs

An uncannily aryan figure, Yasha sports blonde hair that he keeps no lower than his ears. His blue, broad and sort of sluggish looking eyes give him an eery expression. His eyebrows are thick black, almost looking out of place beneath the pale blonde on the top of his head. Between his eyes is a long but thing nosebridge that has characteristic, horizontal marks along the front. His cheekbones are rather prominent, and his wide jaw and long mouth make for a wide grin. His neck is thick, going over into two broad shoulders, and a toned, muscular and body that screams of fitness.

Yasha is what can be described as a hulk of a man, standing at a solid 7 feet and 6 inches. He towers over most people, and his excessively broad and long torso don't make him seem any smaller. While this may lead to the thought that he comes off as a criminal to most, his general presence is one of calm and peace, rarely leading people to judge him for his size.

He wear attire traditional to the deva. While his upper half is bare on a consistent basis (unless it gets very cold), Yasha's pants are a convential wear for a deva. The loose and baggy nature of them, spun from silky cloth and tied like a robe, make them a comfortable wear for any situation. And should the weather turn on him, he will usually simply untie the cloths attached to his lower wear and throw them over his body.

    Other

    Guild: Light Bringer
Guild Tattoo: On the nape of his neck. Not very big, but visible.

Aura Reading: Through becoming ascetic, the deva devote their lives to the pursuit of peace and wisdom. Because they are very in touch with magic and constantly seek to seperate good from evil, they develop the ability to sense good and bad intentions from people. Because of this, a deva can often tell when they are lied to, and are difficult to trick.

Longevity: Because devas are abstinent, fasting for long periods of time and pursue an excessively healthy body, they often live up to twice as long as the regular life span would allow. Hmmm this can be mistaken for several perks in one, but since it is considered minor and does not require alot of effort system wise, I will allow this. But please specify exactly how long they can go without sleep, food, or water. Also please specify that even though a deva does not feel pain, they still undergo the loss of health. Sorry but those specifics are required.

The requirement of exactly three bulletpointed motivations and fears seems arbitrary. I explained why he does not have any explicit fears or goals, and now I forced myself to shoehorn something in on the one end and just repeat myself on the other.

    But I complied, albeit reluctantly.

Metagaming is using out-of-game(roleplay)-information to affect in-game decisions. Which this ability could fall under if I word it differently, but as it stood, it really was not metagaming. I dislike causing a commotion but this did make me raise an eyebrow.

I complied once more, reluctantly. But an ability with such a minor role and effect seems excessively restrictive for no good reason. A character knowing whether or not words and actions are genuine can really not be called overpowered or unfair.

    But w/e. Changed.

I understand that your weightless perk does not enable you to fly but I ask you state the highest you can go must follow the height limit chart.

Technically there would be no limit as he pushes off a surface and then just floats in that direction indefinitely. Like zero gravity.

To appease y'all, I just added in the jumping limit. But technically, he can jump off of any surface, so if he were to jump off of something at 245 meters above sea level, he could go another 245 meters in the air. If he can find a surface there, he could go again and so forth as this is not flying, but just moving in a direction he propels himself in.

I apologize for the inconvenience however you must change your rank to D since you aren't S rank yet. When your sample is finished and approved you can change it back to S however currently you aren't able to.

Also I request you simply say for your weightless perk that it follows the height limit chart for it is due to change. The reason we have these rules are for balancing purposes.

Once again I apologize for the inconvenience.
