Species Ability/Perk: Dragon Wings: The dragon DNA added to Velistra’s genome as she was created caused her to develop wings as she developed. Through various tests when she was younger it was known that the wings were for more than show as she fairly easily took to flying, when give the opportunity. As an adult they now have a wing span of about 9 feet. When not in use the wings fold in on themselves and press flat against her back.

Dragon Scales: Being half-dragon Velistra has lavander scales. While they are softer, due to being thinner, than the scales of a true dragon they do provide natural armor against physical, non-magical, slashing and piercing damage. These scales are even on the thin membrane of her wings making them surprisingly difficult to rip, tear, cut, or pierce. (Slashing and piercing damage from non-magical sources deal 50% less damage to Velistra.)

Special/Unique Characteristics:
Eyes: Her eyes are a bright yellow. When upset or using magic the pupils change shape into that of slits much like a cats, snakes, or dragon’s eyes.
Scales: Velistra is covered head to toe in thin, yet strong, scales that are hard to see at a distance. They are lavender and give her the odd appearance of looking like she has lavander skin at a distance, but up close they are easily seen as what they truly are. They act as a natural armor providing her decent protection. Naturally the scales do not exist at the joints of her body, like the elbow, back of the knee, finger knuckles, etc…, and instead at those spots she has tough, leathery skin instead so that she able to bend them.
Horns: Velistra has two horns on her head. They are each white and come out of the side of her head angled down and backwards.
Tail: She has a 6 foot long white tail, with the tip being an odd crystalline like flesh making it look as if it is made of ice. Its main purpose is simply to function as a counterbalance, but the tip does come to several sharp points. This provides her with the ability to too possibly turn her tail into a make shift physical attack weapon in a pinch but such a situation and use of the tail is far from ideal.
Claws: Less actual claws and more sharply points finger nails, they are naturally dark purple and incredibly strong. She takes great pride in keeping them at the proper length, condition, and sharpness to be effective weapons in a fight.
"Tattoos": In various places on her body Velistra appears to have white tattoos, at least at a distance, in various shapes. They are infact spots where her scales are white making them stand out against the rest of the skales.
Weakness to Dragon Slayer magic: As a being that is half-dragon Velistra is exceedingly at a disadvantage against Dragon Slayer. All Dragon Slayer spells hit her as if they were 1 rank higher than they are (D rank deal C damage to her ect...). The unpleasant exception is if the Dragon Slayer element has a type advantage on her, fire, as it will then smack her as if 2 ranks higher than it actually is (D rank would do B rank damage to her).
Character Depth:
Personality: Velistra has a fairly unique view on life as while her body aged slow her mind does not. Combined with the one hundred and five years she has lived and she appears to has wisdom and knowledge far beyond her apparent age. Anyone with a brain can see the dragon in Velistra so this doesn't really cause much of a stir as people interact with her.
The initial vibe anyone gets from her is a personality colder than her ice magic. It wasn't always so but after her mother's death fifty years prior she has learned to put up an icy shell around her heart. Her first gaze at a stranger has then knowing not to mess with her. Her gaze alone can be like taking icicles to the soul, especially if you are on the wrong end of her wrath. Her words are usually short and to the point as well as quite curt. In fact she often seems to talk only when she needs to and no more or less than that. That is at least until someone has managed to befriend her, in which case friendly discourse be had among them from time to time.
Hidden under this icy veneer however is a warm and caring heart, that takes quite a bit of work to be shown the light of the world. Those that manage to expose it are a rare breed and most likely will become part of her family. Regardless of status as honorary family or simply a friend she will use her full power to defend them. The quickest way to her heart though was simply being a child as it brings up nostalgic feelings and memories of when she was a child and her mom was alive.
In battle she holds nothing back. Friend, foe, practice, or life and death she goes all out. That doesn't mean however that she throws her hardest punches out in every fight though, but rather fights with as much umph as she needs to to win, or at least survive if the situation is dire. It takes a lot for her to use her strongest techniques, especially the hail mary that is her dragon spirit avatar.
Likes:
- Ice: This one really need no explanation seeing as she is a half-dragon of the ice variety, and her mother was an ice make mage.
- Rain/Thunderstorms: While this seems out of place to one who has as much a connection to fire as Velistra she nevertheless finds it quite relax/energizing respectively. The one exception is if she has to be outside as the water falls from the sky, especially if she has to be flying in it as then it becomes something she truly despises and even fears, after all flying in a thunderstorm sounds horrifying on almost any level you approach it.
- Exploration: Having spent 90 years caged or otherwise held prisoner inside a compound with very little in terms of new sites she is fascinated by the vastness that is earthland and desires to see as much, if not all of it, before she dies.
- Spicy food: It isn't too surprising to see her chowing down on extremely rarely cooked cuts of meat, but it is rare to see her eat anything else. In fact the only way she will eat anything else is if it comes as off the charts spicy with a side of extra hot sauce, as apparently her stomach has the fortitude of a real dragons and goes unaffected by the extreme spiciness of such foods. As for her tongue, well she as grown to rather enjoy the pain of spiciness...
Dislikes:
- Fire: As any good ice mage, and dragon, Velistra quite prefers the cold to warmth. Add to that the fact that fire melts ice and this really becomes a no brainer.
- Dragon Slayers: While she has yet to meet one she has heard of them and realizes the threat they pose to her. That said she does not fear them, nor does she out right hate them either. Her dislike is merely a hesitant regard to potentially powerful enemies.
- Cruelty for the sake of cruelty: Being cruel to anyone or thing just because you can pisses her off, but she does know cruelty has its places and she approves of the proper uses of it.
- Seafood: She doesn't like the look, the smell, or the taste of anything that calls water its home. If it walk on or in or grows on land or flies in the sky she will eat it but otherwise she doesn't even want to be around it when it is served up as a meal.
Fears:
- Large bodies of water: She has tried to learn how to swim in the past and simply never has been able to learn. This inability to swim has now become a fear for her.
- Storms: Having been in multiple situations of having to fly in stormy weather she is now traumatized by them and is even prone to jumping in fear from loud sounds if they resemble thunder.
- Losing the ability to fly: After breaking a wing and being grounded for a month back when she was fifty she fears a similar situation happening again. Being unable to fly is only marginally worse than n=being not able to breath. Flying is her life as it is her freedom.
- Large Crowds: While she loves people and being around them, when there are lots of them around her she finds the quickest route to the sky to get away from the invasion of her personal space.
Motivations/Goals:
- Exploration: As simple as it would suggest. She has a long life ahead of her and much yet to see of the world.
- Become stronger: This encompasses every aspect of strength mental, physical, and spiritual.
- To find love: Always a sap at heart Velistra fantasizes about finding "the one." That said she doesn't go out of her way to find it nor does she get obsessive in her pursuit of it.
