Species Ability/Perk
Azreal's race exists underground, and thus has dark vision he is capable of seeing under zero light conditions. This ability is for natural darkness only.Long ago Asreal's people the monstura, lived in relative peace with the rest of the world, however during the war that helped to form the magic council they were forced underground. History mostly forgot about them for some several hundred years, however during that time they developed a very violent and warlike culture in which most interactions were kill or be killed. after one particularly violent encounter Asriel found his way out of their underground home, and then resealed it just to make sure that he wouldn't be followed.
Special Unique Characteristics
Asriel stands out in a crowd due to his appearance being that of a goat like monster. His yellow and black eyes while friendly often put people off added to that is the fact that he is completely covered with white fur, and has slender upward pointing horns that reach 4" making his actual height from head to foot only 6'.
Character Depth
Personality: Asriel is from a world where it is kill or be killed. because of this he lacks many social skills, and even at his young age can often act childish and brash. He fears rejection above all, as he is innately different from the humans around him, and because of this he has often felt small, and unimportant. He was marginalized throughout most of his childhood, and only when he came to the surface did he really start to interact peacefully with the world around him. Since coming to the surface he has been completely enamored with things like magazines, fashion, and of course humans in general, and can easily develop crushes on characters around him.
Asriel has a violent streak that extends from his childishness, often tantruming if he can’t get his way. His lack of social skills puts him at odds with many more mature people, and the people of his age, however it also means he opens up quickly to others and can be rather friendly, with small bouts of shyness in between. He is easily flustered by attention from others, especially when it is over the things that make him different from humans. He is prone to underestimating workloads, and the value of others around him. For a person who grew up in a war torn underground he lacks a lot of the more basic survival skills one would imagine.
In battle however Asriel is reckless, and fights with complete abandon. It wouldn’t matter how much collateral damage is inflicted. He is childish, and thus prone to anger. He can be blinded easily, and become easily emotionally compromised especially when someone he cares about is in danger. He is at his core emotionally destructive, wanting attachment, but at the same time due to his vulnerable state, and lack of control over his emotions he is prone to hurting others around him, and can be so focused on the target of his attacks that he can easily forget the people he was intending to protect in the first place putting them in just as much harm's way as everyone else.
Likes: (3 minimum)
- Trashy Magazines: Sorcerers Magazine in particular is a favorite read of his due to it's constant selling of sex, and following the exploits of stronger wizards.
- Food, and in particular home cooked meals. While Asriel is no chief he often tries his best to cook. Finding the activity more relaxing then the stuff he produces (which usually makes the people who eat them sick to their stomach.)
- Humans: To their culture and celebrations, to their look and yes even their women, asriel is completely enamored by the large cities he visits finding them fascinating no matter how many times he visits them. He is completely enamored by Fiore and the people that inhabit it.
Dislikes: (3 minimum)
-Violence: Despite his naturally destructive lack of social skills, and monstrous look Asriel dislikes the use of violence. He doesn't enjoy fighting, but will often get swept up in it due to his natural passion.
-Not getting his way: Asriel is often childish, often being told no can make him easily angered especially when it is something important to him like accompanying a friend on a mission.
-The Dark: Just because one can see in the dark doesn't mean they have to like it or find it enviting. He finds it reminds him too much of the home he came from. So he isn't a fan of being in dark places especially when those places are underground.
Fears: (3 minimum)
-Rejection, Asriel has a fear of being alone while he isn't shy he does often have to put on a face for the public, both because of how he looks and the fact that he lacks social skills.
-Self Destruction: Asriel is very aware that he is self destructive. everyone he has ever cared about is gone in one way or another. He often feels alone, and knows that eventually everyone around him no matter how close they get he will do something or say something to hurt them.
-Being alone: Which is worse? Being with people knowing that one day you will hurt them, or being alone and isolated forever unable to feel joy or compassion for another living creature? There is some part of Asriel that knows these feelings all too well and would do anything to be around others, which of course leads into his cycle of self destruction.
Motivations/Goals: (3 minimum)
- Friends: Power of friendship is a very real thing, Asriel would be happy if he could be close to others, have friends who can put up with his more childish aspects, and of course survive his cycle of self destruction.
- Control: Be it over his environment or the rest of the world, Asriel is determined to never feel powerless again. He has lost everything, and thus he works to gain control and is power hungry in many respects.
- Hopes and Dreams: Asriel wants more then anything to see others achieve their dreams. After all if your main goal is to have friends who wouldn't want to see them happy?
