Character Depth:
Personality:
Arina is a rather peculiar individual. Often the young woman is considered an enigma to most people that she interacts with. Generally, she is rather reserved. This is due to a calculated, logical and analytic nature. She tends to be very blunt and straightforward, though this aspect of her personality is nondescriminitve between positive and negative emotions. Most of this circulates around a lack of social interaction during the developmental stages of her life. Despite the fact that the young woman is soft spoken, she does not consider herself a shy person. Instead, Arina identifies herself as a person that is confident enough to talk, meet, and interact with almost any person, though she may tend to observe a group of people well before she approaches them.
Typically, Arina doesn't have a very wide spectrum of emotion that she is comfortable in displaying. While not a complete static individual, one will not see the woman expressing exceptional amounts of joy, anger or sadness: if she can help it. The people that get the opportunity to see this emotion are trusted individuals that Ari feels completely safe around. If such an individual is present while she is in a large group, she might act differently than she typically would, however.
Arina is a pacifist by nature. She doesn't particularly enjoy hurting people (or animals), and won't initiate combat unless necessary. If she is thrust into combat, she would rather attempt to evade or use her brain and skills to outwit opponents. However, if she feels there is no other option other than to fight, she will do so with haste and attempt to finish the altercation quickly. In any possible situation the young woman would aim much further at disabling her opponent rather than killing or seriously injuring them.
Despite this pacifist nature, Arina has the potential to be very protective. She doesn't like to see those she cares about deeply pulled away from her. If someone were to put those that she loves in danger, Arina might lash out uncharacteristicaly. If she feels that she is threatened by another person's presence (jealousy) she tends to act in a passive aggressive manner. If she feels intimidated, she will go out of her way with competition, something that doesn't usually motivate the young woman. It is times like these that are the only situation in which Ari will have any real interest in pride. Otherwise she is quick to admit her faults and that someone else is superior to her.
Likes:
-Reading: Ari particularly enjoys reading as a pastime. She typically reads fairy tales/folktales and mythology. She has a large library of such books in her possession.
-Music: There is something about music that soothes Arina. While typically not an emotional person, the brunette uses music as a way to release and decompress. She does so both through creating music with vocals and guitar as well as enjoys listening to it.
-Poetry: Poetry plays into both her love of music and reading. There is something abut the art of crafting a poem that completely captivates the young woman. When she feels particularly creative, the young woman will speak in haiku, couplets, or other forms of rhythmic lulls.
-Sweets: While the young woman particularly enjoys most types of food, she has a weak spot for sweets. Ice cream, lolipops, chocolate, cake, cookies-- if it's sweet Arina loves it.
Dislikes:
- Sour Foods: There are few foods that Arina dislikes, but she can't seem to stomach sour and bitter foods. She would rather starve.
- Insects: Arina is a stereotypical woman when it comes to hating bugs. Worms, crickets, cockroaches... you name it, it'll probably freak her out. The presence of creepy crawlies such as these reveal terrified emotion that is typically so well suppressed.
-Cold/Cold Weather: The young woman typically is pretty positive. However, when it comes to being cold, and cold weather, there is nothing that will make her so grumpy so quickly. She can't stand being cold, and will bundle up under several layers of clothes during late fall and all throughout winter.
Fears:
-Fire: Arina's fear of fire extends to most types of fire including magic and magic users. While the fear is not extreme enough to leave her paralyzed when she sees it, she tends to be extremely weary around flames. This aspect revolves mostly around uncontrolled flames, rather than small controlled flames from a stove or campfire (though she tends to be cautious around these as well) This inherent fear comes from an incident at the age of four that left the young girl severely burned across her back.
-Small/Cramped Spaces (Claustrophobia) Many of Arina's worst memories have occurred in small tight spaces. She relates small areas with these memories, and has generalized the memories to a fear and aversion.
-Arachnids: There is no traumatic experience that has caused Arina to be terrified of spiders. They're just gross... and creepy.
Motivations/Goals:
- Cooking/Baking: Arina doesn't know how to cook or bake, despite her love of food and sweets. She has the impressive ability of burning water when she cooks, and most other foods follow suit.
- Finding Kinship: Arina is a peculiar person, and while she is friendly, it isn't very common for her to create a real, deep connection with others. She desires to find well-balanced relationships, and people who can relate to and easily understand her.
-Being a Pillar of Sage Advice: Despite being a still-young mage, Arina desires to one day be able to mentor others, and that she could establish herself as a person that others can seek out in time of need. She has experienced much in her short lifetime, and the experiences she has weathered through make her much wiser beyond her years. She hopes that this knowledge will one day help other individuals.

- Arina hadn't left the house in a few days, being tucked away in a stupor of reading, evidenced by the strewn volumes of books that decorated her flat. As she pulled open her front door, it caused a haphazardly stacked pile to scatter across the entryway. Normally she would have taken it for a sign that she should have returned to her cave of wonder, but she had more pressing business to attend to, which made it very important business indeed. She shut the door instantly, collecting the books and delicately placing each on a mountain of other fine literary works. "Enjoy your rest lovelies..." she cooed, as her fingers traced over their spines, "You have certainly deserved it."
Content with her parting words to the collections, she returned her attention to the doorway. Cleared of any obstruction, she opened the door, ready to greet the world with a the same enthusiasm in which she departed her novels. Such an idea, was instantly dashed, as she was met by the crisp morning air. A scowl jutted across the young woman's face, her brow furrowed in disapproval. She stared longingly at her cozy fort of books, but grabbing a jacket, she swallowed the pain of leaving her home and took a step outside. As the door shut, she completely regretted the decision. She dug her hands into the pockets of her coat, and released a sigh into the air, in an attempt to see the life force that the cold was undoubtedly attempting to draw out. There was nothing. The cold was a crafty one-- she had realized this years ago-- but the brunette would not be fooled.
Her pace was brisk as she walked the streets. The faster she walked, the sooner she would escape from the torture that was this weather. Her eyes gazed tree tops, as she continued her trek. Some of the trees were losing their green colors, transitioning into the vibrant hues of autumn, but none of the leaves had fallen yet. Arina knew it was only a matter of time. The melodic drone of her boots against the pavement remained constant, keeping in rhythmic time to an unheard drumbeat that she had been playing in her own head. They slowed only when their own constant beat became discontinuous with another. In the distant the sound of an actual drum played-- the echoes of its raw tone sounding against the concrete walls of the city mid-morning. She followed the drone of the siren's song, finding herself in the middle of a street performer's stage.
The young creature paid the brunette little notice and continued playing the songs of his people. The cadence sped in slowed in such a fluid manner. Arina found herself crouching, watching as his hands struck the leather drumtop with absolute precision. She forgot about the cold in the moments she watched him, she forgot about plenty of other things too-- as she sat there, mesmerized by his display. She hadn't even noticed as the crowd formed beside her-- Not until she felt the accidental brush of legs against her back. She swallowed a lump that formed in her throat. How long had it taken for this crowd to form? How had she not been observant enough to prevent her inclusion in such an assemblage? Her body rose to a rigid posture, as emerald orbs desperately searched for a way out.
Her body was mechanic as she tossed a few jewels in the man's cup, and as it slithered through the crowd. "Excuse me..." she said, as she bumped into a large figure. She diverted her gaze, and continued through, though just as she got to the scattered outskirts of the crowd, something caught her hand. She was frozen again, if only for a moment. The emerald orbs glanced back again, as she spoke. "Can I assist you?" she inquired, though the voice came out far meeker than she had intended, as she was tugged backwards by the hand.
